The iron ore mine of Chrustenice (1861-1965) ranked to the largest and most important mines of Barrandien – an area to the west of Prague – in its times. It had 84 underground levels reaching down to a depth of 426 m, i.e. 120 meters below sea level. They extracted nearly 8 million tons of ore from it over one hundred years of hard work. Seeing includes a mine train ride. The permanent exhibition concerning the America – Mořina quarries is situated there.
