The Zbiroh Stream (Zbirožský potok), which is a tributary of the Berounka, runs through the little lakes. The lower one is situated among the trees several meters below.
The little lakes, the waterfall, the stream and the neighbourhood are protected within the Nature Reserve Jezírka (Přírodní rezervace Jezírka) which is a protected area of an area of 59.5 ha within the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Křivoklátsko).
